The Human Resources Department at Oscoda Area Schools is comprised of a team of business professionals who strive to provide guidance, insight, and compliance oversight for the district. Working collaboratively with various levels of administration and staff, our team manages compliance with various employment laws, collective bargaining agreements, board policy, and district practices in an effort to maintain a work environment that is welcoming and productive.

Michael P. Barnhart - District General Manager - Mr. Barnhart joined the Oscoda Area Schools team in 2019. With over 15 years of professional experience in providing Human Resource Service to local organizations, Mr. Barnhart approaches his role with attention to detail and a keen focus on compliance with established policies and procedures. As a Native Owl, Mr. Barnhart is proud to return to Oscoda and use his skills to serve the staff of the district. In 2022, Mr. Barnhart completed the professional development track to earn his Pupil Accounting Specialist certification from the Michigan School Business Officials organization and looks forward to continuing his growth through various educational and professional development opportunities.

Sean Pear - Chief Financial Officer - Mr. Pear joined the Oscoda Area School District in 2012. Mr. Pear received his Certified Public Accountant License in 2006 and has 11 years of experience auditing local governments and schools. He has a Bachelor's Degree with a major in Accounting, and is currently working towards a Master's Degree in School Business Leadership. As CFO, Mr. Pear is responsible for overseeing the district's financial operations and ensuring that all financial processes are in compliance with state and federal regulations. He works closely with school administrators to ensure that the district's finances align with its mission and goals. 

Scott Moore - Superintendent of Schools - Dr. Moore is a class of 1999 alumni member of Oscoda Area Schools. Dr. Moore earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Secondary Education from Central Michigan University, a Masters of Public Administration degree from the Horace Rackham School of Public Administration through the University of Michigan, a Specialist in Education degree in Leadership from Grand Valley State University and a Doctorate degree from Eastern Michigan University-School of Leadership and Counseling. Dr. Moore has served as an administrator with the district since 2007 and assumed the superintendency in 2011. Dr. Moore is committed to the continuity of operations of Oscoda Area Schools through continuous improvement systems and processes that are constructed on the pillars of positivity, hard-work, skill development, resiliency, and compassion. Dr. Moore welcomes students, staff, guardians and the community to share suggestions for improvement by arranging appointments to communicate ideas for enhancement of services that are delivered or that could be delivered by Oscoda Area Schools.
